Stellantis, one of the top global automakers (mainly dominant in Europe and Asia), is considering two internal candidates for its now vacant CEO position. Antonio Filosa, Head of North American Operations, and Maxime Picat, former CEO of Peugeot and Procurement Chief, are in the running for this high-valued opportunity. This comes after the sudden resignation of the previous CEO, Carlos Tavares. His reason for leaving was disagreements with the company's board. In 2021, the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and Peugeot S.A. (PSA) formed Stellantis N.V. It's a multinational automotive company that is one of the largest car manufacturers in the world. Last year, the company sold about 2.7 million cars - just in Europe. It is the 4th largest car manufacturer in the world, after the Toyota Group, Volkswagen Group, and Hyundai Motors Group. However, Filosa and Picat aren't the only ones who are in the running for the top job; the company's board is also open to external candidates. Leadership changes like this can have a profound impact on the company's future.
