AI Generated Vs. Human-Made Articles

Updated: Nov 25, 2024

Telling the work of an AI from genuine work can be hard these days. In this article, we'll be explaining the differences and how to tell them apart, as well as conducting a small experiment. (For example, you may be able to tell that the image for this article is, in fact, generated by an Artificial Intelligence.) Prompt: Find out problems in an average community and come up with innovative solutions and ways to fix those problems. AI-Generated: The following essay is AI-generated. We gave an AI the prompt above and told it to write an essay.

In every community, there's no shortage of issues that demand attention. These problems can be both frustrating and challenging, but with a touch of creativity and forward-thinking, they can be addressed effectively. Here, we'll explore a range of common community problems and brainstorm some inventive solutions.

One of the most common and frustrating issues in communities worldwide is traffic congestion. Rush hour often feels like a never-ending ordeal, with cars crawling along, wasting time, fuel, and patience. An innovative approach to this problem could involve the implementation of a smart traffic management system. Imagine a scenario where traffic lights communicate with one another and adapt to real-time traffic conditions. By coordinating the flow of vehicles, these smart traffic lights could significantly reduce congestion and enhance the overall efficiency of the road network. This not only saves time for community members but also reduces carbon emissions, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable environment.

Access to green spaces is vital for the well-being of a community, yet many areas lack sufficient parks and recreational areas. A novel solution to this problem could involve the creation of vertical gardens. These gardens would transform urban walls and unused spaces into lush, green oases filled with plants and flowers. By introducing vertical gardens into the community, we can offer residents a peaceful retreat from the concrete jungle and simultaneously improve air quality.

Education gaps remain a significant challenge for communities, often limiting the opportunities available to young learners. An innovative solution is to leverage technology. Virtual reality (VR) classrooms could revolutionize the learning experience by transporting students to different parts of the world through immersive, 3D simulations. This approach would enable students to explore history, science, and culture more engagingly and interactively. Moreover, local mentorship programs could help address education gaps by connecting students with professionals in various fields. These mentorship initiatives would provide guidance, encouragement, and valuable insights, inspiring the youth to set and achieve ambitious goals.

The problem of waste management is universal, and in many communities, it leads to overflowing bins and unsightly surroundings. A forward-thinking solution is the implementation of smart trash bins equipped with sensors. These intelligent bins would detect when they are reaching capacity and automatically alert waste management teams, allowing for timely and efficient collection. This innovation optimizes waste collection routes, reducing costs and minimizing disruptions in the community. Additionally, community-wide recycling efforts could be enhanced through convenient and interactive recycling stations, encouraging residents to participate actively in recycling programs.

Thriving communities are built on engagement and connectivity among their members. To foster a sense of belonging and collaboration, an innovative solution could involve the development of an online platform that facilitates community interaction. This platform would serve as a hub for local events, volunteer opportunities, and neighborhood news. By connecting community members, this digital space would encourage participation and cooperation, ultimately strengthening the bonds that tie the community together.

In conclusion, every community faces its unique set of challenges, but these difficulties can be addressed with innovative and imaginative solutions. From smart traffic management systems to vertical gardens, virtual reality classrooms, and sensor-equipped trash bins, there are numerous ways to enhance the quality of life in our communities. By embracing these innovative solutions, we can collectively work towards a better, more sustainable, and more engaging future for our communities. Human-made: The following essay is completely the work of a human, me in particular. I took the prompt above and wrote an essay. The following is my own written work, based on my take on this prompt. There are many problems within every single community, and that’s the truth. Whether it’s the cracked road with potholes that need to be maintained need or the one wheelchair-inaccessible pavilion, we are surrounded by problems in our daily lives. Fortunately for us, these problems make a big difference— and they can be fixed.

First and foremost, at least one of the problems in any community is likely going to be one involving bikers and/or pedestrians. This is because so many people walk, bike, and run every day that it’s paramount to ensure the safety of this crowd. In my community, there is a lack of proper sidewalks by the road. Sidewalks ensure safety by keeping vehicles separated from bikers and walkers. Vehicles are not meant to drive side-by-side with a pedestrian, as we might end up with a severely injured person and a very angry driver. Furthermore, creating extra sidewalks nationwide would ensure the safety of the whopping 11 percent of children who walk to school, and reduce the number of car accidents each year. Placing more sidewalks in our community would also encourage other parents to let their children walk to school because of increased safety measures. Walking to school would drastically impact the gasoline being burnt and those harmful chemicals being released in the air and CO2 emissions, and in a small community, it might not make that much of a difference, but maybe it would if many communities worked together towards making road safety a top priority.

Another problem is the lack of assistance given to those who need and deserve it most. In a world that is evolving at the speed of light, and even the simplest tasks require good memory (or at least a decent amount of knowledge on how to use new technology), it’s hard to adapt to those new advancements; especially if you’re not used to them. A large fraction of most communities are elderly people. These people may require assistance in daily tasks, such as ordering groceries, or more simple tasks, such as opening a door. Whatever the case, our community should provide supplementary services for elderly people living alone, or people in need. These community services would assist those in need and would be providing support for the elderly.

Creating a more accessible and inclusive community center is crucial to ensure that individuals using wheelchairs can access all parts of the facility. It is very important to consider the needs of every member of the community, including those with mobility issues, visual or hearing impairments, and other disabilities. To achieve this, it is highly recommended to install both ramps and elevators to allow for easy access to all areas. Additionally, providing accessible seating and designated parking spots can significantly enhance accessibility for those with disabilities. It is also important to ensure that all areas are well-lit and free of obstructions that might impede mobility.

Maintaining high standards of hygiene in public restrooms is essential to prevent the spread of germs and improve overall cleanliness. To achieve this, it would be beneficial to increase the frequency of cleaning and maintenance. The installation of automatic soap dispensers and touchless faucets can also aid in preventing the spread of germs. This may not be considered a very large problem that would impact every single person living in the community. Nevertheless, it is still important to provide proper waste disposal facilities and to ensure that all areas are well-ventilated to prevent the buildup of unpleasant odors.

It is also important to consider the safety of children in the park. Installing fences or barriers around playgrounds and other high-risk areas can prevent accidents and injuries, both of which can turn out to be disastrous. Providing first aid kits and emergency contact information can also ensure that visitors are prepared for any emergencies that may be of use, should a situation ever arise. Also, it is important to ensure that all playground equipment is well-maintained and meets safety standards.

All things considered, although community problems may be considered a dime a dozen, they shouldn’t - and don’t - have to be this way. However, this doesn’t mean we should inspect every single granular detail in your community area. Ultimately, the people who shape your community are human, and humans naturally make mistakes. Even the smallest details can make the biggest differences, and the biggest details can make the smallest differences.

The Summary

As you may be able to tell, the essays both are on the same topic and sound pretty similar. However, even with the same prompt, there's just a way your brain can tell which one is genuine and which one isn't. This is because of the tone of the passages. Tone is a mood that you convey to the reader, willingly or not. For instance, if you want to write a crime and thriller novel, a fitting tone would be dark and gloomy. Both these passages have different tones. The one generated by AI sounds a lot more robotic. Although AI is being made to sound more relatable in conversations, it has not yet reached its full potential. This all comes down to the types of words you are using, and in most cases, AIs tend to be a lot more wordy, and that is also a little bit of the point of AI. It tries to use big words and be more formal than most humans are, which in turn impresses people. However, it also kind of gives it away. A human-written text will have a tone that displays more emotion, even including short bits of humor sometimes (Which AI does not seem to do, because we've all been there. Those times when a chatbot tries to crack a very, very, very corny joke and fails to make you laugh.). AI
