Two Polish founders (Kamil Stanuch and Łukasz Wróbel) recently created a job board for AI agents. Companies can post tasks for these agents using this job board, exploring new ways to boost productivity. Tech giants like Microsoft and Google are investing heavily in AI agents and integrating them into various tools. Despite the excitement, AI agents have limitations. They often need human oversight and supervision and struggle with complex tasks. As Kamil Stanuch puts it, "In 95% of cases, a full AI agent isn't necessary." The human intervention is particularly crucial, proving the balance between human and AI skillsets. What are AI agents and how do they work?
AI agents are artificial intelligence models (similar to ChatGPT) designed to fully (and independently) complete a set series of tasks on their own. These are designed and trained for certain skills, emphasizing precision and accuracy over one range of skills. Properly trained agents can have many implications in fields like computer science and data analyzation. AI agents are trained using code, which effectively “feeds” information to the agent, telling it its purpose and goal in each task it performs. However, as of now, these AI agents aren’t sophisticated enough to accurately perform complex tasks on their own. Furthermore, AI agents often take much longer to complete even the simplest tasks, working at a slower pace than if humans were to do the same task. All in all, the future seems bright for agents, and we’ll watch them evolve as new and innovative technologies are developed.
